JAY-Z says that Kanye West cross the line in their beef when he
brought Beyonce and Blue Ivy Carter into the mix.
Perhaps for the first time ever, JAY-Z is opening up in an in-depth
interview about his feud with Kanye West. Last fall, Ye went on a rant
on stage his Saint Pablo tour calling out Hov and Beyonce. The
G.O.O.D. Music rapper called out JAY and Beyonce for not calling
him after Kim Kardashian robbery went down in Paris. He even
accused the power couple of not letting their daughter Blue Ivy come
to their house and play with their kids.
In an interview with Elliot Wilson and B. Dot on Rap Radar podcast,
JAY-Z says that he and Kanye West always have issues, but the
difference this time is that Ye brought his family into the feud. “What
really hurt me was, you can’t bring my kids and my wife into it,” JAY-
Z said (via Billboard ). “Kanye’s my little brother. He’s talked about me
100 times. He made a song called ‘Big Brother.’ We’ve gotten past
bigger issues. But you brought my family into it, now it’s a problem
with me. That’s a real, real problem. And he knows it’s a problem.”
JAY-Z added that Kanye West knows that he crossed the line this
time and that this has been the longest feud they ever had. “He
knows that he crossed the line, I know him,” Hov added. “I know he
knows, because we’ve never let this much space go between one of
our disagreements, and we’ve had many, because that’s who we are.
That’s what I like about him. He’s an honest person, he’s open and
he’ll say things and he’s wrong a lot of times and he’ll confront it.”
Kanye West ended the concert after his impromptu rant and then a
few days later he was hospitalized for a nervous breakdown.
Popcaan is locked and loaded for Red Bull Culture Clash in Atlanta

that there is no official signature on paper, but there are ongoing

behind the scene told Dapstream News . “Sean Kingston already

Young Thug celebrated his 26th birthday on Wednesday (Aug 16) by
giving his mom $50,000.
It’s his birthday, but Jeffrey says he is good, he doesn’t want anything
from anyone, and better yet here is $50,000 mom. Thugger threw a
big party at The Tago International Center in Atlanta yesterday, TMZ
reported. But felt like he wanted to thank his mom for giving birth to
him so he gave her a nice stack of cash. He pulled all the stops to
throw himself a big bash and some local celebrities came out like
Young Dolph, Jacquees, and T.I .
The venue where Young Thug threw his birthday party is located
across the street from 2 Chainz famous 11th Street Studio. No one
knew from before hand that Thugger would make a claim for the title
of son of the year and now he is far ahead of everyone else who
wants to lay claim to that title, at least in the eyes of his mother.
Thug has always been a believer of taking care of and giving back to
his family, so this shouldn’t come as a surprize.
Young Thug’s generosity has not gone unnoticed because today he
made headlines and is garnering a lot of praise and admiration from
his adoring fans. This year has been an interested one for the Atlanta
native who released an album Beautiful Thugger Girls and also starred
in the new Adidas Originals ad campaign where he wore a dress .
Other rappers like 21 Savage and Playboi Carti were also featured in
the ad. Thugger is also rumored to be already working on another
album for this year. Sources are saying that the project could be
released as a mixtape, but the “Good Times” rapper has not
confirmed the rumors. Nevertheless, he is known to release a lot of
music in a short period of time.
Meek Mill was arrested in New York City on Thursday night and
charged with reckless endangerment, law enforcement officials
The “1942 Flow” rapper, born Robert Rihmeek Williams, is currently
behind bars in NYC awaiting bond after being taken into custody, TMZ
reported. Meek Mill was pulled over by cops in the Big Apple at
around 11 p.m. on Thursday (August 17) after someone made a 911
call about a group of people riding dangerously on a street and doing
wheelies on motorcycles.
Law Enforcement officials say they were monitoring social media and
noticed Meek Mill among the group of men riding a motorcycle
without a helmet, so they were able to track him down and pull him
over. He was cuffed and brought into the Upper Manhattan Precinct
for question where he was charged with reckless endangerment
which is a misdemeanor. Meek reportedly documented a portion of
his running with the cops on Instagram Live, perhaps as a means of
protecting himself from any danger through his contact with the
In the below video, you can hear the arresting officer questioning
Meek Mill about riding his motorcycle recklessly and Meek apparently
telling the cop that he doesn’t know what he is talking about because
he doesn’t even own a motorcycle. Cops pulled over the Philly rapper
at the intersection of 10th Avenue and Dykman Street just moments
after watching the video on social media. Meek will likely get bail by
day break, but he may just earn himself some new legal troubles,
given that he was on probation and even served time on house arrest
last year for violating said probation .
Meek Mill’s new album Wins & Losses was released on July 21st. The
project was released with 17 tracks and featured other rappers on the
guest list like Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Future, Yo Gotti, Rick Ross,
Verse Simmonds, Quavo, and Teyana Taylor.
Rihanna steps out for a dinner date in London with her billionaire
boyfriend Hassan Jameel on Wednesday night.
Rihanna broke the internet last week when she posted photos from
her visit to Barbados for the 2017 Crop Over Carnival. After leaving
her homeland in the Caribbean, she then went to her home in New
York City and then jetted to London where she met up with her Saudi
billionaire boo. Rihanna and Hassan Jameel dined at the famous
Chiltern Firehouse restaurant in London.
The Bajan pop princess flaunts her curve in an ankle length black
dress, heels, and a Ralph Lauren hoodie that helped cover her up
from the rain. Paparazzi snapped pictures of the two leaving the
restaurant and leaving in an awaiting SUV. The two of them left
together. Rihanna and Hassan were first spotted together in June this
year locking lips in a pool at a private villa in Ibiza, Spain. They were
also spotted together earlier this year in New York City, but no one
knew that they were dating at the time. Hassan reportedly is worth
$1.5 billion dollars and is the heir to his family Toyota dealership in
the middle east.
Chris Brown released his new documentary earlier this week where he
detailed what really happens on the night he assaulted Rihanna. The
“Loyal” singer opened up about punching the pop star with a closed
fist . Brown also expressed a lot of regrets about his relationship with
Rihanna and you can tell that he is remorseful for his actions and for
letting her go. Rihanna seems to have fully moved on with her life and
is not looking back. In an interview last year, she said that Chris
Brown will always be someone she cares about, but she is now over
that relationship and clearly isn’t looking back in that direction.
Nicki Minaj has finally addressed rumors that she has been quietly
beefing Cardi B .
Cardi B has been having a phenomenal year in hip hop with her
breakout single “ Bodak Yellow ” climbing the Billboard Hot 100 chart
to number eight . Some folks think that Nicki Minaj has been hating on
the former Love and Hip Hop rapper because of her success. Earlier
this week, Cardi took a few shots at an unnamed female whom she
said never liked her before her success but all of a sudden wants to
be her friend.
“You know this b*tch,” she told the crowd. “She never f***ing liked
me. And all of a sudden she wants to be friends with me. No, b**ch. I
still don’t like you, b**ch.” Some folks in hip hop like Joe Budden is
saying that Cardi B is talking about Nicki Minaj. Cardi later took to
Twitter to share her feelings on what she said on stage. “I know they
mad that I made all this money I made all my b**ches is laced
#mood,” she added.
Nicki Minaj wasn’t buying the stories about Cardi B dissing her so
she addressed the beef on Twitter by retweeting her while adding, “I
see no lies when Bardi quotes Barbie #WinAgain ~ all dat reaching
you gon f*** around & pull a muscle…#BarbieTingz.” Both Nicki Minaj
and Cardi B are currently working on new albums and are the top
female rappers in the game right now. Just last week, the “Bodak
Yellow” rapper became the highest charting female rapper since Nicki
did it in 2014.
Since people are always putting Nicki Minaj and Cardi B together, do
you think they should just duke it out or just go in the studio and
record a collaboration? Watch the video below to see what Cardi had
Aidonia is still repping for Vybz Kartel even though he has his own
movement in dancehall at the moment.
The 4thGenna deejay is currently in Europe on tour and while
performing in Italy last weekend he decided to pay homage to Vybz
Kartel. Around midway his performance, the JOP deejay paused to
perform a piece of Vybz Kartel’s 2010 smash hit single “Clarks.” You
can watch the video below, the crowd was singing along.
Aidonia and Vybz Kartel were close friends back in the mid 2000s
when the incarcerate deejay left the Alliance and formed his own
group Portmore Empire. But they had a falling out and went their
separate ways. Aidonia has since formed his own group in dancehall,
JOP, which he later renamed 4thGenna. Both artists have even
collaborated on the single “Deadly Alliance.”
Dancehall legend Ninja Man is calling for more local investment in
the local ganja business in Jamaica.
The Jamaican government has been slow to fully legalize marijuana
and some local entertainers have been voicing their frustration. Some
entertainers like Damian Marley are already investing in the United
States market as more states start to legalize weed. Outspoken
deejay Ninja Man says the country is loosing out on a lot of business
from not legalizing the plant fully.
Currently, Jamaicans are only legally permitted to use weed in small
quantities for personal use, while other countries have a fully
developed weed business much like the cigarette market. “Everything
that will make Jamaica prosper, they try and stop it,” Ninja Man said.
“They fight reggae music and they fight ganja, yet they are the two
biggest assets Jamaica has. But at the same time, they promote
alcohol, which kills the brain cells.”
Ninja Man thinks that the Jamaican government doesn’t know how to
tax marijuana and that is why they are hesitant to legalize the plant. “I
feel they are fighting ganja because they don’t know how to tax a
product that a man can grow in their backyard,” the dancehall artist
Do you think the Jamaican government should fast track legalizing
Chris Brown has detailed how he punched Rihanna with his closed
fist during his assault on her back in 2009.
The R&B crooner’s new documentary Chris Brown: Welcome to My
Life was premiered on Monday and a good portion was dedicated to
one of the most pivotal moments of his career, the night that he
brutal beat up Rihanna inside his Lamborghini in California. Chris
Brown was arrested and pleaded guilty to assault charges and has
since served five years probation for the incident.
Rihanna and Chris Brown reconciled briefly a few years ago but then
their relationship still never lasted and they have since went their
separate ways. This is perhaps the first time that Brown is going so
in-dept about the assault and what really happened leading up to the
incident. The singer said that Rihanna had asked her about a
particular female that worked for him at the time if they ever hooked
up and that was one of the things that caused the relationship to go
“I think that we were just the perfect ‘unbad’ combination, it was just
good and bad together,” Chris Brown said. “I would say maybe a year
and a half into the relationship with Rihanna I would say I was
serious about it. You know I was always goofy about everything else
but with Shorty I believe I had what I wanted in my girlfriend. So I
said you know what I want to marry you but I want before we go any
further I just want to be able to be honest with you and be real with
you about anything that you ever questioned or have doubts about.
She had asked me when we first started dating ‘have you ever
messed with this person.’ This person she worked for me at the time,
so I said ‘naa’ because I didn’t want to say all my business and I
didn’t know who she would tell if I would tell her what am doing.”
Before he said all of that, Chris Brown spoke about how they started
dating at 16 and how dangerous it was for them both to be so
famous at such a young age. Brown said that he finally come clean
about eight months later and by doing that it dealt a big blow to the
relationship because Rihanna didn’t trust him again. “So about eight
months later I just broke it to her and I said I want to marry you but I
want to be real with you, I want to be honest with you and tell you
everything. This is what it is, before we were together me and this
other girl did have sex. My trust was totally lost with her, she hated
me. After that I tried everything, she didn’t care, she just didn’t trust
me after that. From there, it just went downhill because there were
too many verbal fights, physical fights as well.”
Karrueche Tran tried to pull off a Rihanna and break the internet but it
backfired badly for her.
Last week, Rihanna shared a few photos from Crop Over Carnival in
Barbados and the internet went crazy. Even Chris Brown couldn’t
contain himself and had to comment on the pic. Yesterday,
Karrueche Tran posted two photos of herself in a tiny bikini showing
off her toned body, but instead of breaking the internet, she received
a mountain of backlash.
The comments were really mean and even rapper Ralo weighed in
saying, “U looks better wit clothes on.” Karrueche responded on
Twitter calling out her haters for praising fake bodies and criticizing
natural ones like hers. She even got some support from her rumored
boyfriend Quavo who cosigned her natural body argument. Some fans
suggested that Karrueche wanted to get a comment from Chris
Brown just like Rihanna did. “She thought breezy was gonna post
something like he did with Queen Rihanna hahaha she comparing as
hole i knew it,” one fan commented.
Despite the mountain of harsh comments, the “Claws” actress did
got some support. “Bro I am blown away at the hate. This is a
beautiful woman Are y’all blind? If you don’t agree you Gay flat out.
Gtfo,” another person added. “She is just got a regular thin body and
she looks gorgeous I don’t know why so much hate, but Karrueche
keep your cloth on.”
One thing is for certain didn’t happen, and that is Chris Brown didn’t
say anything unless he used a secret account to comment, but he
didn’t say zilch. Maybe that restraining order that Karrueche Tran won
in court may be keeping Breezy at bay. Nevertheless, the hate she
has been getting is not unusual but is disheartening given the fact
that she is a gorgeous young lady.
Alkaline has denied ever visiting Vybz Kartel in prison to make peace
and possibly record a collaboration.
On Tuesday, rumors started floating around the internet claiming that
Alkaline visited Vybz Kartel in GP. The reports alleging that the
Vendetta deejay apologizes to the incarcerated deejay and asked for
a collaboration in music and possible business ventures.Dapstream News reached out to sources in both the Vendetta and Gaza camp
who could not confirm the claim, the folks over Vendetta
categorically denied the reports.
“Alkaline never and I want to emphasize ‘never’ visit Kartel in or out
of prison,” a rep for the Vendetta told Us. “This is nothing more
than fake news made up by supporters of the other side. We too busy
making hit songs and making moves to even sit down behind a
keyboard and makeup foolishness.”
DJ-LYTMAS also reached out to our sources inside the Gaza for a comment
and they also couldn’t confirm that the meeting ever happen. “I don’t
know about that,” sources said. “Vybz Kartel gets visit from people
from time to time and there is a process to see him so at the very
least Shorty or management would know if that ago go down.” Vybz
Kartel and Alkaline are both rivals in dancehall and two of the hottest
artists in the genre over the last few years.
In October last year, Vybz Kartel released an Alkaline and Mavado
diss track “Round Corna” which solidifies their beef. That track has
since racked up 3 million views on YouTube.
Drake reigned over Billboard Hot 100 chart for almost a decade but
that has come to an end.
For the first time in 8 years, the Toronto rapper does not have a song
on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t still
visible on other charts on Billboard since his latest album More Life is
currently at number thirteen on the Billboard 200 chart. Now every
OVO fan is wondering what’s happening with Drizzy this year. No
need to panic because he is already working on his next album.
Perhaps his latest album didn’t have the strength of Views or perhaps
there is much more competition from other big names artists like
Kendrick Lamar and JAY-Z who both released blockbuster rap albums
this year. On Tuesday, Chart Data announced on their Twitter page
that for the first time since making his musical debut on May 23,
2009, Drake does not have a song on the Hot 100 chart. That’s a
whopping 430 weeks on the chart, but that winning streak has come
to an end this week.
The first time Drake graced the chart was with his debut single “Best I
Ever Had” which went on to earn a Grammy nomination for the OVO
rapper. Since then, Drake has called the chart his second him, he
literally lives there. Over the past few years, the Young Money rapper
has come under criticism for allegedly using a ghostwriter to write
his songs , thanks to Meek Mill. But that never stopped him from
stamping his authority on the most recognized chart on the planet.
Last year Drake had the biggest song, “One Dance ,” and the biggest
album, Views, on the planet. “One Dance” spent ten non-consecutive
weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last year and
received over a billion streams on Spotify alone. His landmark album
Views spent a whopping thirteen non-consecutive weeks at the top of
the Billboard 200 album chart last year. The project also became the
first album to earn a billion streams on Apple Music.
The former Gaza princess link up with Chemist Records who is
responsible for the production. Bling condemns men who wants to
please their women in ways that she don’t approve. The track is a bit
like a anti Ishawna and anti “Equal Rights” type of track, so it will be
interesting to see the response she will get.
“Come in like a bare tongue deh ya / Bare clown deh ya dog, a bare
clown deh ya / Man them a walk around a nyam f*** like dog, what a
bloodclat / Me a talk pure facts any man a say them want nyam me /
Me send mi dog and go shot that / Him not even tell me say yo love
me / My main man couldn’t s-ck me,” Vanessa Bling deejay.
Listen to Vanessa Bling new track “Bare Clown” below.
Vybz Kartel‘s Gazanation fans are some of the most loyal fans in
dancehall and it’s always best to not get on their bad sides.
By extension, a lot of Gaza fans will also support former Gaza
members like Tommy Lee Sparta. Last week, Sean Kingston and
Tommy Lee Sparta got into it with Alkaline ‘s Vendetta fans when the
reggae pop singer posted a video of himself playing with the Mobay
deejay’s hair and another clip of him sleeping inside his Porsche.
Alkaline took a subliminal shot at both artists calling them b*tches
and that didn’t go over well for the Gaza/Sparta fans. Over the
weekend someone went a dug up an old photo of Alkaline and
another man, but it wasn’t just another old pic. If you look closely,
you will see the man finger touching Alkaline’s nipple. This could be
just mere coincidence or it could be calculated. Nevertheless, this is
what the beef has come down to, a war of who have the gayest
The photo has been online since around 2015, and Gazation fans are
are going in on social media about it. “Long time we know that
Alkline is a fish but this prove it,” one fan wrote. This is the video
that Sean Kingston posted on IG of himself putting his hands in
Tommy Lee Sparta’s hair. Do you think fans are reaching or is there
something in this photo and video to be concerned about? Sound off
in comments below.
Jamaican celebrated it’s 55th Independence Day on August 6th and
Drake ‘s main producer and business partner Noah “40” Shebib
praises the island’s dancehall culture.
40, who is of Lebanese/Canadian descent, grew up on reggae/
dancehall music and that has heavily influenced his work over the
years as seen in a lot of Drake’s biggest records like “One Dance”
and “Controlla.” In fact, the entire Views album was built on a
dancehall foundation. As part of Jamaica’s 55th celebration, the
producer thanked the island for its influential culture.
“Thank you Jamaica you have given me so much,” Noah “40” Shebib
wrote. “My brothers, my best friend of 28 years, his brother who is
also like my brother cause I don’t have a real one, my other mother,
my favourite food (next to Lebanese obviously). The coffee, the
culture, the dance, the talks and of course the sound. The vibes, the
feelings, the cadence the timing, the rawness, the meaning the
influence the guidance and the politics!!!! BASS! All this bass today,
we can thank Jamaica for that. Gadget!!! Rasss the ting gave me Gaj

SOUNDS HEAVY! Gave us Sly, Robby, Beres, Peter, Bob, like what?!
DANCEHALL?! These are real tangible influences in my life and my
music and who I am as a man in my heart. One of my favourite
places on earth, no question. There’s no where as real. Literally made
me who I am thousands of miles away in a cold city in Canada
called Toronto. If that’s not a testament to the power and influence
of that culture then I don’t know what is. Blessings on your
Independence day and guidance and protection forever.”
Drake himself is also a huge fan of dancehall music and is close
friends with Popcaan who he also signed to OVO Records.
Tommy Lee Sparta wants all his fans to party for the rest of the
summer to his new video “Grim Rim Rave.”
The “Uncle Demon” deejay just signed a new deal with Sean
Kingston’s Time is Money Entertainment making him the newest
artist to call the label home. The 4-minutes clip was directed by
Cinema Gods while the single was produced by Silver Birds Records.
The video starts out with Tommy Lee Sparta and his crew hosting a
pool party with plenty bikini clad females.
They then took the party inside his mansion at night fall and party
until day break. Tommy Lee Sparta is having a great year this year
with a number of singles in heavy rotation on dancehall airwaves. He
is looking to close out the year with his new deal with Sean Kingston.
